Ever since WW1 was put to an end, sports in Canada has made a significant improvement to our nation. By Canadians playing sports, it has helped individuals to bond and communicate with other athletes. Sports have given opportunities to Canadian athletes to compete with athletes from different countries. Professional sports have influenced individuals to be entertained as they watched athletes compete. From playing sports, Canadians learned the competitiveness in life. The main sports played in the 1920’s were hockey, basketball, and baseball. From all these sports, Lionel Conacher was a passionate athlete that played various sports. Another significant individual was Foster Hewitt, he was a Canadian radio broadcaster who was well known for his play-by-play calls for “Hockey Night in Canada”. He was a remarkable radio broadcaster, because of his enthusiastic voice. Most importantly, sports were a great why for athletes to communicate and have fun with other athletes.Sport has also helped women to gain their rights. As women played sports, they were able to show that they should be treated equally. Finally, Canada had lots of benefits from sports.
