Basketball, a sport invented by Dr.James Naismith, was also a popular sport played by man and women. In the 1920's, the sport became popular due to many unemployed men. Unemployed males played basketball to escape their boredom. However in the 1920's, many women participated in playing basketball. During the 1920's, female athletes were called the "Golden Age of Sports". A women's basketball team called The Edmonton Grads was a successful team. They had an overall record of 502 wins and 20 losses. From this successful team, women had prove their equality. Female and male athletes should have been treated equally. This successful teams had won 4 Olympic gold medal for Canada. This basketball team has shown the world about Canadian athletes' talent. No wonder females athletes were called the "Golden Age of Sports". Finally basketball has helped women to have more rights and freedom.
